Nirmal Singh Bhangoo, 57, founded Pearls in 1983 and under his guidance it has become one of India’s fastest growing firms and among its largest private landholders.
Mr Bhangoo has amassed a diversified portfolio with extensive interests in infrastructure; civil, commercial and residential construction; property development; hospitals and educational institutes; food, spices and liquor; insurance; tourism; agriculture; and, media and entertainment.
Headquartered in New Delhi, Pearls leads the Indian property sector, with a coveted strategic land bank of agricultural, semi-urban and urban parcels totalling more than 1.5 million acres, which is being developed by the firm’s real estate and construction arms.
Mr Bhangoo has long been a pioneer in real estate. His entities have developed residential complexes and villas, farm houses, apartments, hotels & resorts; commercial complexes, shopping malls and townships.
Pearls is also now undertaking various hospitality, utility and commercial projects on its land to meet the demands of one of the fastest growing economies in the world. This includes five star hotels, resorts and business hotels at various locations including Bangalore, Mumbai, Lonavala, Pune and Gurgaon.
Since entering the Australian marketplace in early 2010 with the purchase of the prestigious Sheraton Mirage Resort on the Gold Coast, Mr Bhangoo has demonstrated his genuine commitment to Australia with a series of prominent deals and projects.
They underpin his serious intent of becoming a major and permanent player in the national economy. Foremost has been his creation of an Australian property and development arm, Pearls Australasia. is managed by its award-winning Joint Managing Directors, Australian property identities, Mr Paul Brinsmead and Mr Peter Madrers.
With the strong support of Mr Bhangoo, Pearls Australasia has further announced a multi-million dollar upgrade of the Sheraton; a joint venture with David Devine’s Metro Property Development to construct 1000 apartments in Brisbane and 1000 land lots in Melbourne; and the local and international expansion world leading building technology under the Pearls MiiHome brand.
Born in the Punjab, Bhangoo is now being recognised for his tremendous commitment to enhancing business relationships with both Britain and Australia. In the past 12 months his family has accepted awards on his behalf at Parliament Houses in London and Sydney.
